Wally Pfister, who is perhaps best known for his cinematographic efforts for Christopher Nolan‘s past films like The Dark Knight, Insomnia, and Inception, will make his directorial debut April of 2014. The film is Transcendence, a science fiction action flick with an all-star cast.
The film already had Paul Bettany and Johnny Depp signed on, who were on screen together in The Tourist. Rebecca Hall was then attached to this film after beating out Emily Blunt and Rooney Mara for a role. Now, it has been learned that Kate Mara, sister to Rooney and star of Netflix’s House of Cards has landed the female lead. The film is about a scientist whose brain is uploaded into a supercomputer. While not much else is known about the film, it was a Black List winner in 2012 (best un-produced script).
Transcendence opens April 25, 2014. For more about this film, stay with LazyDog Films
